Point Defiance Zoo Meetup!

I met up with some ladies that I met online at the Point Defiance Zoo in Washington! We have been sharing our experiences with each other from early on in our pregnancies, through the birth of our children, and now our present challenges as Mothers! This was the first time we had met, but we chat on a daily basis. All of the babies are around the same age - 9 months old. We had a great time and look forward to seeing each other again!

Alex got to finally meet Kate for the first time! She is the daughter of a family friend...and 2 weeks older than Alex!

Alex is growing so fast, we can't believe it! He's getting close to 9 months old. He is great at doing the 'army man' crawl, but is getting up on his hands and knees more. Yes, he's discovered he's got knees. He occasionally tries to pull himself up and is sometimes successful. He is no where near ready to walk yet - thankfully! He is interested in everything around him, getting into things he shouldn't be getting into.

As far as food - he hasn't met one that he doesn't like yet! He even ate spinach and potatoes (yuk - it tasted awful). I think blueberry pancakes will be our next adventure!

We haven't tried to measure him, but we weighed him the other night. 21 pounds, according to our scale. We'll find out on Monday, when his 9 mo doctor's appointment is! We'll update his stats then. He's wearing size 12 mo clothing...and growing!

We are having a great time experimenting with food! Alex sure loves eating his Puffs (which are like cereal) and Mum Mums (surfboard shaped rice crisps)!!

7 months!

He's too cute! We can't believe he's all ready 7 months old! He's sitting up well, saying "mamamama", and almost into his 12 month clothing! He LOOOOOVES food. He is currently eating peaches, pears, prunes, bananas, squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He tried peas and didn't seem to like them. He sits up front in his BOB stroller - no longer in his car seat. I think he enjoys sitting up and seeing everything. I think we will be upgrading to a convertible car seat next month! He'll be able to sit up more, sit higher, and watch the world go by! What a big boy!
